Singapore's national newspaper covers Collar's work bringing AI diligence to funds, and the two polytechnic graduates behind it.
The Straits Times, Singapore’s national newspaper, has featured Collar in a story about how funds are beginning to hand their due diligence to AI agents, and about the two founders building the company behind them.
The piece follows Jamie Yau and Kazel Koh from polytechnic to Y Combinator’s Fall 2026 batch. There is a well worn script for how deep tech companies are supposed to start, and we did not follow it. That is what interested the paper: what it looks like when two poly grads skip the script and get judged on the product and the customers instead.
What the feature covers
Collar builds domain expert AI agents for general partners at venture, private equity and private credit funds. The agents read every document in the dataroom, apply the fund’s own criteria, flag the risks and produce the memo the investment committee actually reads, all on the fund’s own infrastructure. The feature looks at why that matters for an industry where judgment has always been scarce, and why the work is happening out of Singapore.
